Executive Producer, Coldwater Kitchen

Desire Vincent Levy is a communications strategist and impact producer specializing in advocacy campaigns and impact litigation. She is the executive producer and an impact producer of the James Beard Award winning film, Coldwater Kitchen, a documentary that uses culinary arts as a prism to examine some of the most pressing issues in the U.S. carceral system. Desire is an alum of the Vera Institute of Justice, Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law, and the ACLU of Michigan, where she held various roles in communications, educating the public on issues related to democracy and the criminal legal system. Desire is a trustee at the Vera Institute of Justice and current board chair of the Detroit Food and Youth Entrepreneurship Academy where she drives board engagement to help realize Detroit Food Academy’s vision of a Detroit where youth are powerful – leading, changing, and co-creating the future of Detroit’s food system through culinary arts and food entrepreneurship.
